Backup Plans are now available to Backup Radar partners in the United States.
This is a big step in the rollout of a better way to manage backup monitoring in Backup Radar.
Backup Plans moves teams away from templates, standalone activations, and next-day review. In their place, it gives MSPs a more structured way to define backup expectations, track SLA compliance, and respond faster when something needs attention.
What Changed
Backup Plans replaces Templates with a guided setup flow for configuring
- Backup sources
- Backup jobs
- SLA definitions
- Optional RPO thresholds
- Schedule expectations
- Ticketing rules
- Plan naming and organization
Instead of stitching those decisions together across different areas of the product, teams can now manage them in one place.
That makes setup more consistent and gives MSPs a clearer operating model for backup monitoring across clients.
Why It Matters
Most backup monitoring still creates too much noise.
Too many alerts. Too much time spent reviewing logs. Too much effort going into figuring out what actually matters.
Backup Plans change that by shifting Backup Radar toward SLA-based monitoring. Instead of looking at backup status in isolation, teams can see whether backups are at risk based on the expectations they set.
That gives MSPs a better signal, less noise, and a clearer way to manage backup operations at scale.
What’s Improved Since the Initial Rollout
Since the initial rollout, Backup Plans has evolved with:
- Near real-time ticketing, so teams can catch issues sooner instead of waiting until the next day
- Daily Activity, which replaces Audit with a clearer view of backup compliance, risk, ticket details, and backup history
- Updated dashboards and reporting, built around SLA compliance and backup risk
- Additional usability improvements, including saved filters, stronger navigation between views, dashboard template support, and more flexibility during setup
